The Complete Battery of the CAT/5 sets the standard in standardized testing. It is available for Kindergarten through Grade 12.

Level KN, Kindergarten, is an oral test with picture answers. Level KR (Level 10) is for a reading Kindergarten student or a beginning reader in Grade 1. Both tests cover Visual and Sound Recognition (Word Analysis), Vocabulary, Comprehension, and Mathematics Concepts and Applications.

Grade 1 adds Language Mechanics and Expression, Mathematics Computation, Science, and Social Studies. Students need to read well and understand simple stories, although most of this test is administered orally. Grade 2 adds a section on Spelling. Grade 4 replaces Word Analysis with Study Skills.

The Basic Skills test starts at Grade 1 and includes everything in the Complete Battery except the sections on Science and Social Studies.

The Survey test starts at Grade 2 and requires the least amount of time to administer. It uses twenty questions from each section of the Complete Battery. Skills Mastery information provided with the Complete Battery and Basic Skills tests is not available in the Survey report.

The test price for the 2007-08 school year is $60 per CAT/5, which includes Priority Mail delivery to you. The test price does not include the required Priority Mail return postage. Tests administered through August 31 will be scored with Spring norms.

For 2008-09, the base price of $60 remains in effect, with the following exceptions. For in-season (February 2 - May 22, 2009) tests the cost is $50 if you order by April 1, or $45 if you order by February 1.

If you need to test ASAP or request a test week with less than 3 weeks lead time, please add $10 for rush orders.

TEST OF COGNITIVE SKILLS

The Test of Cognitive Skills is a one hour long aptitude, or intelligence (IQ), test that measures thinking abilities. It is available for students from 6 years 8 months to 18 years.
   
The TCS®/2 score is the Cognitive Skills Index (CSI) in a range from 58 to 141+ based on a mean of 100 derived from the four subtests Sequences, Analogies, Memory and Verbal Reasoning. This test by itself does not meet state achievement test requirements.
   
The TCS is administered and scored separately from any form of the CAT. Order by Grade Level (2-12) for $55 per student.
